Let's go around West Java!
Curug Seribu/ thousand falls at Gunung Halimun Salak, Bogor
Taman Raya Bogor / Botanical Garden in Bogor- where you can find different exotic plants that can be found in Indonesia. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any rafflesia for it is only a seasonal flower.
Green Canyon, Pangandaran- you can bring friends to have body rafting and dive in high cliffs if you are into adventure. I recommend this place for all adventure seekers.
Hermet crabs are being sold in Pangandaran as a lucky charm in their traditional market.
Grab some prawn and shrimp crackers after the tiring day in Pangandaran.
Enjoy the early morning views at the seaside of West Java.
Are you brave enough to climb the high and steep mountain of Gunung Padang? I felt a bit dizzy going up due to the cold weather and the altitude of the place. But, it's worth it once you reach the peak. It shows megalithic rocks that are piled together that was supposed to be built as a temple on the mountain top. According to the locals, long time ago their ancestors gathered these rocks to form a temple but ended up not able to finish it due to the government's budget.
Gula or sugar that are wrapped in banana leaves.
Plants that grow around Gunung Padang.
A fresh tea leaf after the rain.
A watermill that helps to irrigate the tea and rice plantations in West Java.
Let's go to the nearest island from Jakarta: Pulau Seribu. Actually, there are a lot of different islets in Pulau Seribu but I focused only in Pari Island. It was a fun experience snorkeling, watching sunset and biking there. Although, I don't really know how to ride the bike. :-) But since it's free, well I was able to test my biking skills.
Not a far place from Jakarta is Ciwidey near Bandung, where you can find the sulfuric lake called 'Kawa Putih', strawberry farm and tea plantation. It is good for those who wants to unwind and go out from the buzzing city.
Well, that's all for now. I will look for more adventures around Indonesia and go back to you as soon as I gathered more and more travel informations that I learned here. Have fun travelling!!!
